Andy Gallagher was put up for adoption by his birth mother, Holly Beckett, and separated from his fraternal twin, Ansem Weems. His adoptive mother died on his six month birthday, December 30, 1983.
Gabriel Tigerman did a podcast for Winchester Radio That Was Then, This is Now. A few of the highlights of the broadcast pertaining to Simon Said:
He thanked everyone in the SPN family that reached out to him and his wife this past year. His wife had been incredibly sick and it meant a lot to him that the fandom cared.
He admitted that he auditioned for Neil in CSPwDT, and had high hopes for it. He did not get the part. However, he was called back to audition for Andy. He really liked the character of Andy, but thought he could not be a pothead. Everyone else who auditioned seemed high as a kite, but he did not have that. He had everything else down pat for Andy.
He would love to go back and snag the robe and velvet tiger poster. He is also a bit jealous of whomever it was that owned the van with the barbarian queen on the side.
He is the first non-Winchester that drove the Impala, but he did not realize what a huge part of the show it was until everyone looked terrified when Jensen handed over the keys. He did not know if it was a dangerous car, or if it could explode - but he only drove it about 5 mph. He was even talking on the cell phone, so it was not even both hands on the wheel. After Simon Said aired, he realized WHOA! What a big deal it was driving the Impala.
Andy got to be funny and casual to very serious. It is rare to be able to do a guest stint with so much meat to the character. Although if he was able to play the part of his evil twin, it would be better than just playing Andy.
His favorite line - I have an evil twin.
There was only one take of Andy shooting Webber. There were big cranes for special shots on the dam. It was really cool. The director was really cool, he just let the actors go.
